    Climbing to the summit

    2026 rules: early July to September 10. No climbing from 2 pm to 3 am without a hut booking; on the Yoshida trail, the gate closes once 4,000 climbers have entered that day (hut guests not counted) and turns away anyone without warm clothes, rain gear or hiking shoes. 2027 rules announced before the season.
