Your eSIM,
in 4 steps
Install it at home, on Wi-Fi, and switch it on when you land: you're online before you even reach customs. The PlanJapan eSIM is data only: your calls, texts and WhatsApp stay on your usual number.

Open the delivery email on the phone that's going to Japan and tap the install button. The QR code in the email is your backup.
Your phone suggests a label, often “Travel” on iPhone: keep it or pick your own. Your usual SIM keeps calls and texts.
Switched on at home, the line searches in vain for a Japanese network and doesn't always search again on arrival. Your plan only starts in Japan.
Switch on your eSIM line, then turn on “Data Roaming” for it, on iPhone as on Android. A signal bar appears: you're set.
Which plan for which trip?
On Japanese networks, 4G or 5G depending on coverage. Data plans last 30 days from your first connection in Japan.
